Hello all! I was asked by the lovely undisclosed-free-spirit to recommend some shoulder opening poses that will increase flexibility in order to perform reverse prayer pose (as shown above). This really got me thinking about how often neglected stretching out the shoulders and arms really is! Most people love to focus on leg and back flexibility, but we have to remember to give our upper body a good stretch—especially if you incorporate a lot of inversions in your practice! So here are a few poses I figured could really help aid in increased shoulder flexibility, and ultimately a wider range of motion :)

I didn’t make my 10k average…in fact I’m just barely better than I was in June by about 500 steps.

My knees just couldn’t take it. The pain was impossible. Had me limping…I had to give it some rest…it still hurts occasionally too…

I’m not proud of this performance but August is here and it’s another month to try…

Weight in

I’m at 200.8 today….from 209.9. I very happy and excited because I didn’t have to starve myself. I just walked.

46.8 pounds (about 23.4kg) to my goal weight! Lord help me.

Walking for weight loss

My hip joints don’t hurt anymore. I think they have finally gotten used to all this walking.

However my left foot hurts in the morning, first thing out of bed. I think it’s that Plantar fasciitis.

Plantar fasciitis is the most common injury of the plantar fascia and is the most common cause of heel pain. Approximately 10% of people have plantar fasciitis at some point during their lifetime.
